Welcome to the LUDOVICE FAMILY website. This website is currently under construction, and chronicles the history of the Ludovice family in the United States. Folks in this family are descendants of John Ludovice who traveled from the German-Speaking part of Belgium to the United States around the beginning of the twentieth century. Ironically, John’s name was actually “Jean Ludowicz” based on my cousins’ reading of his original travel papers. My name is Pete Ludovice, and I am the great-grandson of John Ludovice, and grandson of his son, Nick Ludovice who traveled with him to the U.S. when he was a young child. I just set this website up in June, 2026, to address the fact that I meet Ludovices all over the world. The largest groups of Ludovices’ belongs to the descendants of the famous German architect Joao Frederico Ludovice who moved to Portugal and designed a palace or two. There is also a large group of Ludovices that live in the Philippines that I have met working in the Middle East. I will add references and links to these families as well.
